Secret Roots Music House is a music library and label that offers a tasty array of pop, rock, electronic, Orchestral, and hip-hop genre-blending treats, including its own distinctive signature flavor coined as “Pop with a Rock and Roll Heartbeat”. Founded by vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, artist, composer, and producer Ryan James Edwards (also known as The 808), the SRMH collection is driven by its authentic variety of irresistibly catchy and captivating works.

MEET THE OWNER
Ryan James Edwards (a.k.a The 808), is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, artist, composer, and producer.
Since 2007, Ryan has been touring worldwide as a supporting instrumentalist and producer. Most notably, performing internationally in such countries as Peru, Canada, and the Dominican Republic. Ryan also worked as a tour assistant for a Grammy-nominated rock band on multiple national headlining engagements and personally performed as a featured independent artist 3 years in a row at one of Disney’s premier music festivals at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
In 2010, Ryan was welcomed into the TV/Film industry as an actor and studio assistant working on projects such as, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, ToothFairy 2, The Ultimate Life, Hallmarks: A Way Back Home, Cinemax's: Banshee, and many other productions.
In 2014, Ryan debuted his first independent solo recording under the artist persona The 808. Charlotte, North Carolina (USA) based artist The 808 is best known for his energetic and playful “Pop with a Rock and Roll Heartbeat” musical style. Since The 808’s first solo release, Ryan has personally produced multiple records, singles, and over 2000+ audio cues with his team of talented composers, specially for use in the visual media industry under his production music catalog, Secret Roots Music House.

In August 2023, Ryan launched his production music library and label, Secret Roots Music House. Within the catalog’s first year, SRMH has secured over 350+ TV/FILM placements (with the assistance of SRMH’s many incredible sub-publishers around the globe), including 2 feature films.
In May 2024, The 808 was selected as Charlotte, North Carolina’s local artist/band of the year at the 2024 Best Of The Best - BOB Awards, presented by Charlotte Magazine. The 808’s music has also been featured by Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora amongst many of their curated playlists.
Outside of the studio, Ryan and his family are constantly planning their next global travel adventure. They also enjoy attending local theater productions, an extended game of outdoor sports, and time with their many pets.
